It is estimated that 90% of employers view cover letters as a valuable way to assess candidates, 77% of employers give preference to a candidate who sent a cover letter, and 72% of employers will expect to receive a cover letter even if it’s not mandatory. However, only 38% of candidates send a cover letter when it is required.
