A recent article in Forbes by Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic caught my eye. There’s a lot of disinformation around AI and what it will be used for, how it will affect and what it means for the labour market.
Chamorro-Premuzic points out that AI isn’t going away and though we may want to regulate some aspects of AI it will improve productivity and unlock human creativity by automating boring and tedious tasks, freeing us to focus on more fulfilling and imaginative activities.
Job search is not fun – apparently, it takes the average job seeker between 20-80 applications to receive one offer, and that is not necessarily the best or right offer for them. Each candidate competes against c.117 other candidates, so recruiters spend very little time on each CV. Standing out is hard, and scanning and assessing opportunities, getting assessed and attending interviews is a full-time job.
