10Eighty
This year World Wellbeing Week takes place from 22-26 June 2020. We hear a lot more about mental health in the workplace; these days the stigma is not so obvious and the more we talk about mental health issues the easier it will become for those who suffer and those who support them. However, it remains a difficult topic for many with 1 in 5 people taking time off work due to stress but only 90% feeling unable to tell their employer that mental health is the reason for their absence.
Organisations that genuinely promote and value the health and well-being of employees will benefit from improved engagement and retention of employees with consequent gains for performance and productivity.
We’ve compiled a list of our latest mental health and wellbeing resources to be shared with your colleagues, employees and friends. Click below to download.
Support to your workforce
The emotional and physical wellbeing of your workforce are reflected in levels of absenteeism. Wellbeing at work encompasses general mental health and wellbeing in terms of levels of happiness, trust, engagement and “presenteeism”. Although the financial impact of these aspects of work is difficult to evaluate, there is research that links workplace wellbeing to long-term financial success. The culture of an organisation will improve when people feel safe being open and able to communicate freely being honest with themselves and those around them.
One of the things we can do is to help staff develop resilience and coping strategies. We run a number of virtual webinars for clients which help attendees to be better equipped to manage their mental health and wellbeing issues and support those of their colleagues.
