Last week 10Eighty held their 10th anniversary party. What a journey it’s been! We love to celebrate and this year we did it in style!
We were surrounded by our core team, NEDs, associates, corporate clients, suppliers, friends and family and enjoyed excellent wine, canapés and bowl food, short speeches (the best kind), good company and a jazz band of students from the Centre for Young Musicians. The Centre is the charity 10Eighty are supporting this year.
Our venue was The Gherkin, a skyscraper in London’s primary financial district, the City of London. We had 200 guests on levels 39 and 40, the top two floors admiring spectacular 360-degree views across London. Searcy’s at the Gherkin catered for the event. We chose a selection of canapés and bowl food to include:
Canapés
- Zaatar spiced pressed chicken, Sriracha mayo
- Seared Hereford beef, chimichurri, Maldon sea salt
- Smoked salmon roulade, keta and lemon balm
- Tempura prawns, lemon and Szechuan dip
- Wild woodland mushroom, truffle, garlic cone
Bowl food
- Anya potato, chorizo and crispy kale salad
- Quinoa, heritage carrots, dried cranberries, tender stem broccoli
- Laverstoke mozzarella, heritage tomatoes, shallots, sourdough
As a team, we are hugely proud of a number of things, including
- The sheer number of people we’ve helped over the years
- We’ve built a fantastic pool of over 50 associates
- We’ve now coached in 52 countries worldwide
We’ve also had a lot of fun along the way! We’ve hosted some wonderful parties; our launch party and first couple of birthdays were at Inn the Park (in St. James’s Park), we’ve hosted Christmas parties at The Royal Exchange, celebrated at Altitude and have had a number of parties at The Shard. We’ve also enjoyed various team days out; from hiring a duck tour down the Thames to racing at Sandown.
As part of the fun on the night, we had a photo booth complete with props for guests to enjoy throughout the night. Here are a few photographs to enjoy!
After the brief speeches, Liz and Hannah cut the cake and everyone raised their glasses to sing Happy Birthday!
A good time was had by all and if you didn’t make it to the party we look forward to catching up with you soon. Below are some notes about the Centre for Young Musicians.
Centre for Young Musicians (CYM)
CYM believes music education should be available to all, irrespective of means to pay, privilege or chance and has enabled thousands of talented young Londoners to realise their musical dreams.
In 2020, CYM celebrated its 50th birthday and its flagship organisation, LSSO is 70 this year. We now have an opportunity through the anniversaries of both of these incredible organisations to shine a spotlight on 120 years of combined youth music making in London and invite businesses, charitable trusts, individuals – parents and music-enthusiasts alike – to help build our FYM Bursary Fund to secure musical opportunities for talented young people in future generations.
FYM’s target is to raise £1 million by 2021, providing bursary support for another 1,000 talented students who would otherwise be unable to study at CYM and benefit from the opportunities of membership of the LSSO over the next 10 years. 10Eighty is delighted to support this appeal.
