Ian Christie

Web Editor Ian has freelanced since the early noughties and a good chunk of his public sector work before then involved engaging and consulting with staff, residents and service users.

He’s all about creating written and audio-visual content that’s accessible and engaging for all audiences, and while he’s an advocate of plain English, he’s not a grammarian: “For me, good copy should have ‘flow’ when you read it out loud”.

His championing of clearly written English extends to co-producing Easy Read documents with self-advocacy group Camden People First for public bodies like HS2 and TfL.

You could describe Ian as an eternal indie kid. He’s a John Peel Session veteran, rebooted his 80s band Khartomb in 2013 since when they’ve appeared on Brooklyn’s Newtown Radio and Stanford KZSU 90.1FM, recorded an EP and returned to the live circuit with his trusty Fender Telecaster.

He’s also a lifelong Spurs supporter, culture vulture and avid podcast listener.
